The “Do Something” Teen Choice Awards pre-party honored those who are stepping up and actively trying to make the world a better place through both small and large charitable activities.  When asked by Teen Magazine about her Dime-A-Download March of Dimes donations, Bettina stated “Not everyone has the means to donate large sums of money, but collectively we can still make a huge difference.  That’s important.”  Bettina and Daniel Rhyder enjoyed performances by Varsity Fan Club, Menudo, and Jesse McCartney.

Bettina opened for Gretchen Wilson at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, NJ and it was AWESOME! The crowd was so amped and the upbeat set flew by, leaving everyone wanting more! “The audience was clapping above their heads during the last chorus of Cradle To The Grave – It was so cool to see a packed house respond like that!” Bettina commented after the show.  Bettina met some of the fans and signed autographs with the help of Stevie Mesquite & Jeff Collins during the brief break before Gretchen took the stage.  ”I can’t even begin to say enough about how COOL the Redneck Woman herself is.  She hung out with us after the show (Stevie Mesquite, Juan Carreon, Dave Cotter, & Jeff Collins) and was so down to earth and honest – she ROCKS!”  Gretchen’s crew and tour manager were great, too – thanks to everyone on the tour and the HOB crew for an incredible 4th of July weekend!

It was a family night of fun in Colorado as the sun went down, the opening act got it going, and Radio Disney pumped up the crowd for Bettina to take the stage.  Bettina and Stevie Mesquite opened with their own version of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”, and Bettina followed it with a her new track “Emerald City” from the upcoming album!  An hour of fun followed, with original songs, a special family invited onstage (they drove 8 hours to see Bettina in concert!), and Bettina even had the audience dancing in a conga line!

Bettina started the day with an interview on KAFA, the Air Force radio station, chatting with the DJs about how excited she was to be performing at her dad’s alma mater.  The DJ revealed there was a rumor spreading across campus that she would be attending the prestigious Ring Dance with a cadet later in the week.  Bettina quickly confirmed that the rumor was true, and she was looking forward to the dance.

Next was a photo shoot across campus for the alumni magazine.  Thanks to Alfredo Sandoval, Bettina had a custom-made football jersey with her name across the back for the shoot and concert.  Her attempt to walk across campus in it was happily interrupted several times by autograph requests, and she took the opportunity to meet and talk to as many people as possible.

After taking the stage, Bettina looked out to the 5,000 cadets and stated, “My Dad raised me to have a great respect for the military and specifically for this institution.  It’s an honor to attend here, an honor to graduate from here, and an honor for me to perform here for you tonight.”  Then the fun began!  One lucky cadet won the chance to come up onstage and have Bettina sing “She Is” to him – she kissed him on the cheek and the crowd went wild!

Bettina signed autographs and took pictures with the cadets for almost three hours afterward, getting to know where they were from, what they are studying, and thanking them for their service.  Later, Smashmouth closed out the night on a high note.
